Cognitive Training

Dr. Lissa Dells is a Canadian living in Spain. She is a qualified physiotherapist with a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science, the science of motivation and sustainable change who works as a cognitive trainer & physiotherapist in her private practice as well as in a freelance capacity for RFH Fitness.

Lissa has 40 years of experience coaching clients of all ages in motivation & stability, in adjusting to hormonal, seasonal and weight changes, in reducing work-related stresses and in ageing well. She also specialises in improving individual body image and the quality of sleep. Her user-friendly exercises make it easier to "kick-start" better fitness and weight-management habits at work and in private life.

Lissa has found that visitors who are on holiday with RFH Fitness and who are serious about getting into better shape have an ideal opportunity to get energised and put new routines in place to re-structure their home life.  

As a coach rather than as a therapist Lissa´s focus is on common-sense tools and skills rather than on analysis or repair. She can help people to increase and sustain an enjoyment of activities that improve fitness, such as walking, whilst decreasing dependence on activities which leave them drained or de-motivated, such as overeating junk food or sweets, skipping meals, going to bed too late, etc.

Most clients require 3 hours of contact time during their visit.  Her fee also includes a “get-acquainted call” by phone or videoconference before arrival to discuss the tools and strategies which will be used for you, as well as a customised maintenance programme at the end of the course and an aftercare call.  This acts like a pre-arranged "nudge" in areas where clients know they will need support, as a chance to finish off any steps if required, or to add in a new exercise based on their "re-entry" experiences. Lissa also gives regular email updates on new research.
